MARK HODSON PRINCIPAL
Mark Hodson is the founder and President of Strategic Sourcing International, LLC and a principal of Compete Indiana. He spent 32 years at Eli Lilly and Company in Process Engineering, Human Resources, Performance Improvement (6- Sigma today), Project Management, Capital Program (Engineering) Management, and Strategic Sourcing Management. In his second career as President of Sourcing International, Mark is continuing his contribution to Global Leadership through executive coaching in Strategic Sourcing, Capital Program Management, and Leadership Development.

In Lilly assignments associated with Engineering leadership from 1991 thru 2001, Mark had responsibility for initiating and growing a small projects management program in Indiana, England, Ireland, France, and Puerto Rico. The foundation of each of these was the model of alliance relationships giving Mark significant business level experience at forming and managing strategic alliances.

In this role, Mark was a contributing author of the Special Projects Manual, a text generated through Construction Industry Institute that established best practices for the structure, processes, and management of small capital teams. Mark also contributed to the establishment and formation of professional Project Management through participation in the initial generation of the Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK) generated by PMI which is now the text used to certify Project Management Professionals (PMP).

Since 2001, Mark has had Global responsibility for Strategic Sourcing for all capital, facilities management, energy, and waste management. Mark grew this business team from a US focused team to a global team of individuals based in Indiana, Puerto Rico, France, and China. In his management assignment in sourcing, Mark lead teams to develop and use global opportunity assessment, contract templates to drive speed and efficiency, and other significant process and procedural changes. Mark was also an executive

management mentor to several diverse businesses in the US and Puerto Rico. In addition, Mark was a contributing author of both a text on the Supply Chain Management in Capital Projects and Global Procurement and Materials Management both generated through efforts with the Construction Industry Institute.

Mark earned a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in1977 and a Masters in Business Administration from Indiana University in1987.
